Indian Lodge is a unique inn located in Jeff Davis County. It sits northwest of Fort Davis and inside Davis Mountains State Park. Built in the 1930s, it opened to the public in 1939. The lodge resembles a multilevel pueblo village.
The Civilian Conservation Corps built the first section of the lodge in the 1930s. You can see their work today, in the original interiors and furnishings.
A major construction project in 1967 added more rooms and amenities. The project also included renovations to the original structure. That structure has 18-inch adobe walls, hand-carved cedar furniture, and ceilings of pine viga and latilla.
