I used to go camping with my family at Clinton Lake as a teenager. I went there again this year to take my own teenagers camping. I reserved online with was convenient, but when I arrived I was confused. The tiny gravel horseshoe they give you for a camp site was a joke. In my memories there were lots of trees and you could see the water. There was no water in sight. and my majestic view was a great big open field of nothing with large RVs. After I talked to my Dad to figure out what happened I realized that my family always went to Clinton Lake, not Clinton State Park. So I took my family to the other side of the lake and finally saw the familiar campgrounds I grew up with. The price of the Clinton state park site was $10 per night, the price at the Clinton Lake was $14 per night or $18 with electricity. If you are going camping pay the bit more and head to the other side of the lake. That few extra dollars will get you within sight of the water, closer to the beach, and surrounded by beautiful trees. Kinda the whole reason for camping. If I wanted a big field of nothingness I would have camped in my own backyard.

Our family visits each year around St. Patrick's Day and we love it! Folks do a great job keeping the park clean. The cabins of always been clean. Make sure if your cabin has a guest book that you sign it. We've been going there for 5 years now and we'll be back again!

It was nice. The only couple of things I would complain about would be the not all the shower rooms were open would have been less waiting if they were, the other thing was "quite time" is at ten but the people next to us and a few others were really load. I'm ok with people having a good time as we did but out of the respect for others we kept our noise level down, it would probably help if they have park rangers come by every so often until a certain hour of the night because the people next to us stayed up well passed 2am.

We spent the night here while traveling across the country. We camped in a 40' fifth wheel. The campground was very nice with ample space for our fifth wheel and truck. We only stayed one night but it was very quiet. We would like to camp there again when we have more time to enjoy the park more.

Make sure you go to the core side if you want a nice beach to swim! Only found one place to swim on the state side. It was down a long ,long stair case covered in poison ivy! Not for the elderly! That was by land ,near the cabins. I do not recamende it if you have breathing problems. Or allergic to poison ivy!
