The Flume Trail is fantastic. The hike is very approachable for all skill types and provides great views of Lake Tahoe throughout. Good for both walking and mountain biking. There's also a great cafe at the base of the trail that is usually crowded but has good breakfast and lunch options.

Serene in the winter with nobody else there. Make sure you pay with envelope (provided) for entry if nobody is in booth. Probably an amazing place for sunset. About 40 minutes from South Tahoe.

Sand harbour is beautiful , amazing clear water! The cafe was closed down during certain months, be careful about that, website did not reflect that. Sand harbour does have kayak rentals available on the beach , unknown on cost and hours. I brought my own, free to use. Worth the visit for sure! Visited sept 2017.

Great views and beautiful beach. Good place for chilling out for a couple hours. Super busy during summer season thou and often closed. The parking/Entry fee was was higher for non-Nevadan’s.
