First Day Hike - Equestrian Ride

Gallop into 2025 with a ride on the trails.

Join the Friends of San Angelo State Park in starting off the new year with a horse ride along the Burkett Trail and Potts Creek to Five Points!

Distance/Difficulty: Easy to moderate, about 7.5 miles, Burkett & Potts Creek Trail system

Bring: Water, snacks, close-toed shoes, sun protection, proof of negative Coggins test.

Cost: Free with park admission

Entrance fee for the park:

$4 for adults 13 & up.
Free for children 12 & under.
Free for Texas State Park Pass holders.

Note - You must check in at the South Shore Gatehouse to get the gate code for the North Concho Entrance and to provide proof of horse's current negative COGGINS test.
