Jones Beach State Park

1 Ocean Parkway

World famous Jones Beach State Park, home of 6.5 miles of beautiful white-sand beach on the Atlantic Ocean, is made up of more than 2,400-acres of maritime environment on the south shore of Long Island. Among the 6 to 8 million visitors to the park each year, families enjoy their own piece of the beach for a day, with many returning dozens of times through the summer. Designed on the theme of an ocean liner, Jones Beach offers many activities to those who visit the park. They swim in the ocean, stroll the boardwalk, fish, visit an historic exhibit, get a bite to eat at one of the many concession stands, play miniature golf, shuffleboard and basketball, attend concerts at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater or learn about the marine environment at the Theodore Roosevelt Nature Center. Other activities that take place in the park include pool swimming, sunbathing, bicycling, surfing, and visiting the playgrounds.

Jones beach concerts are truly a great experience! It's not huge so there is really not too bad of a seat unless you're all the way at the top. Food is good and prices are reasonable! Concerts here are just really enjoyable and everyone has a great time all around! It's right on the water so it's a great sunset with amazing music and friendly staff and security. If you catch a show here you won't be disappointed but if it's raining bring a umbrella and a rain coat. Could get breezy on the water at times. Enjoy!!

Beautiful venue with amazing views. The VIP area is nice, but unless you want to pay to sit inside (which sort of defeats the purpose of going to this venue in my opinion) I would not spring for The Room upgrade. It is air conditioned and the view the show on TVs but it takes away from the experience for me. Parking can be tough for a packed show. It's also helpful to brush up on policies before you go (alcohol cuts at a certain time and no re-entry, etc.)

Treasure of a beach. When we visited Jones beach last year, the water was pretty calm. On our visit a few days ago, I experienced water in its full fury. Some kind of a rip tide, apparently. Keep in mind that I'm the kind of person who wades not more that 50 or so feet into the ocean. Parking is easy. Though, I wish public transportation to this place were better

What can I say about this place! This is the first beach ever want you in my life when I was probably 2 years old and came here with my family. I have great memories here. It's a gorgeous Beach. You have to leave very early in the morning to get to the good fields, field 6 is especially good because it has easy access to the ocean via Boardwalk.

Such an awesome place to spend time with he family. The beach is full of amenities and well staffed. The North well theater at Jones beach is beautiful. Right on the water. Many things to do in the area from swimming to fishing to eating. Cant go wrong catching a show at the theater or taking a stroll along the boardwalk.
